A network server, even just a
desktop PC can cost your company
thousands of dollars per hour in
downtime, and potentially a lot
more. That's why choosing the
right backup and disaster
recovery would reduce system
downtime to a minimum, and
provide the best possible return
on investment.
Acronis Backup and Recovery Advanced
Server really frees up everyone's
time because backups are performed
even when the system is live so
nobody really knows.
Acronis users
can choose to have the backup files
stored in the Acronis Secure Zone, a
special hidden partition in the same
hard disk. Backup can also store in
a variety of storage media including
options like external USB hard
disks, additional internal hard
disk, CDs and DVDs. Overall, I'd say
Acronis True Image is the cost
effective BMR (bare metal restore)
solution for Windows platform.
Acronis Backup and Recovery
enables you to restore systems in
minutes, not hours or days.
An
entire system can be restored from
an image that includes everything
the system need to run: the
operating system, applications,
databases, and configurations. No
reinstallation or reconfiguration is
required.
Complete system
restoration can be performed to an
existing system or to a new system
with different hardware or to
virtual machines using the new
Acronis Universal Restore feature.
With the new Acronis Snap Restore
feature, users can boot from an
image and access a system during
restore, further decreasing
downtime.
With the scheduling
capability in Acronis Backup and
Recovery,
you can simply create backup tasks,
tailored by group, at certain times
or at certain events, automating
backups. To ensure that backups have
occurred, you can request
notifications of results via email,
pop-up or SNMP.
You can also view
Acronis events in your existing
Acronis Windows Event Log. The
product also supports the creation
of custom commands before and after
backups. For example, users can
automatically run anti-virus
products before an image is created
and verify the validity of backups
after they have been created.
Online protection is
provided for mission critical
applications such as Microsoft
Exchange Server, Microsoft SQL
Server and Oracle with support for
VSS. Using VSS you can backup
databases during business hours as
they are not required to be taken
offline to create valid backups.
