Monitoring and Recording Employee
Activities on the Internet
Most companies have done something to protect and secure their network from external threats. Starting from anti-virus to anti-spam, anti-spyware, content filter, and firewall. While these Internet securities may be good enough to secure corporate network, they don't prevent information breaches from company employee.

Employee are knowingly or unknowingly leaking sensitive information to the outside world. The best Internet securities won't stop information breaches from inside.

Using Content Filter to prevent employee visiting non-work related web site is a good start. Content Filtering software does not address the problem of keeping Company Confidential Information secure. Employee can easily copy and transfer large amount of data to free on-line storage services.

Content filtering software won't stop abuse of company Internet. While it can block some web sites your employee like to visit, it also blocks many of the sites you want your employees to be able to access for business purposes. Finally, what is appropriate for one employee in one department may be off limits for an employee in another department.

As if it wasn't difficult enough for companies to manage security, IT Managers also have to make sure their own employees aren't jeopardizing the security of data on a network. One answer to this dilemma is network monitoring and surveillance software, so call "spy software".

Unlike content filtering software, activity monitoring software monitor, record activities, archive data for review or investigation.

Spector CNE is by far the most advance activity monitoring software. It is an invisible software agent that can be installed on any Windows-based PC. It installs invisibly, and records all user activity on the PC including Web surfing, application usage, emails, instant messages, and keystrokes. This may sound like an excessive and unnecessary invasion of privacy, but if employees aren't performing any illegal activities, what do they have to hide.

To protect sensitive information from leaking out, and to increase productivity, company has the right to know how employee spend their time, and the obligation to protect sensitive information.

PC Tracking & Theft Recovery

PC Activity Monitoring software is a reassurance tool for management.

Key employee defection to direct competitor can be a disaster. There must ways to discourage printing or copying of sensitive information to any portable storage media in the days prior to their departure.

Employees who run business part time spend more time on their side business than their full time job. They tend to use company resources to spam.

Productivity suffer when employees use company computer and high speed Internet for non-work related activities, and damages can be done to the computer and the corporate network when employee visit inappropriate sites.

Some employee use Yahoo, Hotmail, or other web-based email service to avoid being watch, some download pirate software from web sites with load of spyware, some spend two hours each day on Instant Messaging.

Up to 80% of corporate computer crimes and information breaches in North America is a result of inside jobs.

Ever wonder why the network is so slow, and yet unable to track down who is downloading movies, music, and pornography images?

Any employee suspected of downloading spyware or malicious code will always denied any such activity. How do you prove and prevent it?

Companies can be held liable for employees' improper use of IT equipment, especially in cases of fraud or intellectual property theft.

Every company has a story or two to tell. If you have any concern, whether it is productivity gain or preventing information breaches, you know you can turn to PC and Internet activity monitoring solution.

Spector CNE is the most advance PC and Internet activity monitoring solution for the corporate network you should consider.

Spector CNE is designed to be installed on any or all PCs on the network, at the touch of a button, from one central location. Once installed, Spector CNE will record all employee Internet and PC activity, automatically archive these recordings to a centralized server and allow you to review the recordings remotely anywhre across the network from the Administrator Control Center.

The Control Center allows you to install, configure and deploy Spector CNE to any PC on the network, from one central location, without you ever having to physically touch the computers you wish to monitor.  You can also review the activity recordings from the Control Center, and if necessary, remove the monitoring software from any computer on the network.

With Spector CNE, you will have a complete record of every email sent and received, every chat conversation and instant message, every web site visited, every keystroke typed, every application launched and detailed pictures of PC activity via our CNE Visual Recorder technology.

Suspect some employee are using company computer to download movies or music? Spector CNE records Files Transferred over the Internet by keeping track of HTTP, FTP and P2P file transfers. You will be able to see who is downloading or uploading files, what file protocol is being used, which service is being used, the name of the file being transferred and the type of file being transferred (audio, image, video, software, document).

Want to keep track and protect sensitive files from leaking out? Spector CNE includes a Document Tracking feature which allows you to determine whether files/documents may be exiting your company via removable media such as floppy, zip, CD, DVD or USB storage devices and memory sticks. The Document Tracking feature also allows you to track documents that are printed and who is copying or printing potentially sensitive files or documents.

The core component of Spector CNE is the Recorder. The Recorder will automatically capture and record all PC and Internet activity, including: Emails sent & received; Web Based Email Services such as Hotmail, Yahoo mail, etc…; Web Site Browsing; Chat and Instant Message Conversations; Keystrokes typed; Applications launched and continuous Snapshot Recording of the PC. It works much like a surveillance video system.

Spector CNE allows you to monitor what your employees do on their PC, on the Internet, and all applications run and all keystrokes typed are immediately available to you. Just like a VCR records and plays back, Spector CNE provides you with the total picture of everything your employee does. If training or other assistance is necessary to make that employee more productive or proficient, you’re able to quickly rectify the situation.

Spector CNE will stop inappropriate behaviors too. It shows you everything that is happening so you can implement sanctions if policy is abused. Each employee is now held responsible for their action. Now you can tell employees that "big brother is watching" over their shoulder. Time waste playing game on computer and chatting on the Internet will become thing of the past.

With Spector CNE, if abuse occurs, you will know which employees are using valuable network resources for personal reasons. You will know exactly what they download, how they spend their time, and the visual verification management needs for employee discussion or warning.

Should an employee install or download illegal pirated software, you can immediately diminish company liability by eliminating programs outside the core products approved for your business.

Managing risk is more than just filtering, firewalls and passwords. Even if you have filtering software, implementing a Spector CNE will increase employee productivity, provide a safeguard in the event of inappropriate employee behavior, and protect your company from liability.

I think Internet Activity Monitoring software should be part of network security for every company, even small non-profit organization who need to protect customer information.
